I am impressed with myself today, I actually remembered that it was 2025 and got the date right. Ya gotta take the little victories..
Anyway.. Tuesday night we saw about 1/2″ of snow. It was just enough to make the ground white and the side roads slick. Last night we had another hint of snow, probably less than 1/2″. I can still see plenty of grass.
We are expecting a clipper for Sunday with a possible 1-3 or 2-4. That would be our biggest snow of the year.
The long term forecast models, both the GFS and Euro show virtually nothing for snow after Sunday for the next two weeks. The storms go north , south, anywhere except here.
The lakes are freezing up nicely with the cold weather and no snow. It won’t be long before you can drive on them.
I saw a post the other day that the High falls Radar Run (..and Winterfest/Fish-O-Rama ) is Feb 8th this year. They also commented that the ice is coming in nicely.
I expected a good winter this year with ElNino/LaNina (ENSO) being neutral or slightly cold. Well that didn’t work out. We are now in LaNina conditions, not what I want to hear. Our best years are when it is neutral or slightly in either direction.
This business where Arkansas and Tennessee gets a foot or more of snow while we watch from the cheap seats is very typical of LaNina.
I’ll take the clipper snow, at least it is something. If it gets deep enough I might even get to test run my Chondabeast Frankkenstein snowblower. My brother had a humorous take on it.. referring to it as the SnowZillia Terminator 10,000 that, with a loud mad scientist BaHaHaHa, I proceed to launch the snow into low-earth orbit!
Awesome. I needed a laugh after seeing the forecast.
Hopefully something changes soon. For now we wait.
