Greetings and welcome!
I don’t have a lot of information on today’s weather, I spent the day inside working.
I did quite a bit of snow removal over the weekend. The picnic table measurement was 17-18″. I have to mention that there are some icy layers in there too, making it hard to stick the tape measure into the pile. It is some good sturdy snow, and there is some ice underneath it.
It is rare to have so much snow before Christmas. It will be nice having enough snow to have the groomers fill in bad spots and not be hitting rocks early in the season. The roads have a nice ice base too.
One thing that I didn’t like is that there is not a lot of frost in the ground. It snowed a lot before we got a deep frost. That will probably show up in wet spots and high traffic corners.
I am not sure how that all went on lakes. they didn’t have a lot of ice before a lot of snow came. I just don’t know.
The word on the street is that most area trails will be opening this coming weekend. I am still waiting to hear the official word. The Near North, Dun-Good and Pemene River Riders trails are open with a few challenges.
We have a pretty seasonal week coming up with high temperatures in the low to mid-20s with the exception of Wednesday. Wednesday we will see a blast of arctic air and a high temperature of +10. Friday and the weekend look much warmer with high temperatures in the low to mid-30s.
Have a good Tuesday and thank you for visiting!
