Greetings and welcome!
The snow from Wednesday’s storm made the roads slippery, but didn’t last long. We probably briefly peaked at a couple of inches, but rain and warm temperatures took it back down. There are patchy sheltered areas that still hold snow, but only a little.
We have a weekend in the 40s ahead, followed by a lot of rain early week. Eventually that storm will bring light snow as it departs. Behind that is colder weather, and eventually a storm with some potential about the 9th.
The lakes are ready to start freezing. I had a report that last weekend when we were so cold and windy a small lake near work actually had skin ice all of the way across at sunrise Saturday. I saw that the fairly fast moving creek on the way to work had a lot of ice on the sides Saturday morning. When we get the cold wave later next week I would expect lake ice to start forming pretty quickly.
The weather looks pretty seasonal for the snowmobile show next Saturday, and there is a chance of a little light snow.
