Greetings and welcome!
It has been quite a weekend so far. Yesterday brought a fair number of riders to the trails. Multiple conversations blamed the snow down south and a certain football game for keeping riders away that normally would have been here.
It is probably just as well. Yesterday ended up getting warmer than expected and by the end of the day the trails were not as pretty as they were a few days ago. Multiple groups that visited Rapids reported seeing 40ºF at various places in their travels. Athelstane Weather marked a high of 38.3, close enough.
Based on what I have seen and heard, high traffic trails took a hard hit and even some nice trails built some bumps with the traffic and warm day. My best guess is that we lost a lot of the last snow and we are back to nice in some spots, marginal in others, and some area are getting pretty snirty.
You can certainly still ride, just pick your spots. I’d make a point of dodging plowed/treated road trails. Warm weather is never nice to those.
Have a good Sunday and thank you for visiting!
