Greetings and welcome!
It has been a cold 24 hours. Wednesday night’s low was reported to be as cold as -14 in the area. With the wind it was a lot colder. The wind kept up all day and continued into the night.
It looks like a little nicer temps ahead for the weekend, with highs in the low 20s and lows in the low teens.
The precip coming at us should start Friday afternoon and keep up for most of the weekend. It might only add up to an inch and a half or two inches, but a little light snow should make the atmosphere more festive.
There is a hook though. We will be right on the line between snow and freezing drizzle. Right now it is too close to call which way that it will go, if it will be a mix, or what. Earlier model runs had us deeper into the now band, and hopefully that is the scenario that plays out. I am not too concerned, whatever it is there isn’t much of it expected.
In yesterday’s comments Bob let us know about outhouse races at the Firelane Bar (Hwy C two miles west of A in Athelstane) on Sat. Feb. 7th. Debbie let us in on some nice trails by Pembine.
I just wanted to let you know that our trails, which are east of you, in Pembine, are actually very good! They have been groomed and with the cold weather, are looking great.
Thanks you guys, and keep those comments coming, they help everyone!
