Greetings and welcome!
It is Tuesday and that means inquiring minds want to know what to expect for the weekend. From here I’d give it a green light.
The trails that I saw around the flowages and between here and Athelstane were good enough. There are great areas, some snirty or thin spots, and a variety of conditions. Most of it rated good or better. Road trails in particular drag it down a little. They have been out grooming and what is there is nice and flat.
The wildcard in the mix is the weather. It looks like we are expecting a small disturbance about Thursday, followed by a bigger one for Friday and the weekend.
The Thursday storm doesn’t look like much, maybe an inch. The clipper for Friday looks like a good 1-3 and maybe a little more. It is shown keeping the snow coming Friday into Saturday and maybe even Saturdaynight or Sunday. Saturday looks like a hi/lo of 25/15 and Sunday looks colder with 0/10. Sunday night we go sub-zero again.
Again there are no major storms in the forecast, and this week’s mid-20s looks like the extent of the warmth for the foreseeable future. The GFS continues to flirt with a bigger storm a couple of weeks out. It did that last year too, all of the way until June when the rain finally came.
Personally I am not waiting. It is 26 degrees outside and I have two hours of daylight left. I am headed outside to spend it on shop time or a quick ride. Maybe both.
Have a good Tuesday and thank you for visiting!
