Greetings and merry Christmas Eve!

Here are the pictures from my sunset trip to Lakewood/Townsend/Carter.

Waubee Lake and Townsend Flowage had multiple spots where the snow had weighted down the thin ice enough to have a lot of water spots showing through the snow. Stay off of the ice. It is not safe anywhere, not even close.

With the occasional scalped high spot from the groomer forgiven, the trails along the roads looked to be in good or great shape, especially considering that it was our first 6″ plus snowfall of the year.

There are places that haven’t frozen in yet. The ground has very little frost in it, I was turning up sod plowing the driveway. The lakes are not frozen yet, at least not enough to keep the snow from sinking the thin ice.

Between sleep and other obligations I don’t expect to hit the trail until early afternoon. After that I am planning on some serious saddle time on the new old sled. I will bring the camera.

Have a merry Christmas and thank you for visiting!
