3-3-2025 Storm Watch

Greetings and welcome!

We are well into mud season and most of our snow is gone. The lakes are melting off and getting dangerous. Now we have our first actual big southern storm of the whole dang winter to watch.

Right now it is a huge question mark. The current forecast has the heavy snow line somewhere around here and then heavy snow to the northwest. Fifty miles is the difference between 2″ of snow and 8+. Only the European model has us in the heavy snow. The GFS and NAM models have us on the edge of the heavy snow with mostly rain.

So the forecast is for 2-12″. Which will it be? Ask me Thursday. My bet is on the 2″ because this winter has sucked and there is no reason to expect anything different in the coming days.

It does look like places to our northwest could get slammed and have a bonus weekend. Or the storm could take a right turn and nail southern Indiana or Louisiana like the last 45 storms. It is hard to have faith when every single big storm of the whole winter went anywhere but here.
