Boy is that some miserable stuff to move. I’m sticking with my earlier 8″ assessment, but as the day wears on it is settling into 6″ of cement snow.
This snow would make some insane base. It is ridiculously wet and heavy. It took over an hour with a 10hp snowblower to cut a 30′ path to the snow pile by the road and make one punch through it. I am covered in sweat.
The picture was taken from far away with a zoom, making it look like a lot less than it really is. Look at the black thing in the bottom right of the frame for proportion.
The forecast is still for 18-24″ Saturday night to Monday. If it is cement snow like this stuff it will be paralyzing.
I’m a prepper so I am ready for almost anything, but when I do get out I will be adding a couple more cans of generator gas to my inventory. I’m always good for a couple of days but we might be here for a while.
