Greetings and welcome!
It is another morning where the weather has delayed my drive to work. I actually wanted to be on the road about 30 minutes ago, but the freezing fog and frost/ice layer has me on delay again.
Yesterday’s delay was a good choice. The roads where the salt didn’t reach had a good layer of ice probably 1/8″ to 1/4″.
Yesterday afternoon we got up to about 35. It wasn’t catastrophic melting but it did consolidate the snow a little and make it a little sloppy. We got down into the low 20s last night freezing it all back up.
Today and tomorrow we are expecting sunny skies and a high of 41, and Sunday the NWS is calling for a high of 40. That isn’t exactly what we want to hear on the weekend that trails could open.
There isn’t a lot to look forward to in the short term. There is a clipper possible mid-week next week and some storms possible about 10 days out.
This morning I was reading a blog about our ElNino winter. The forecast is up to a 90% chance, but not everyone agrees with that forecast. Check out some of the comments on this blog. https://wattsupwiththat.com/2018/12/13/el-nio-is-expected-to-form-and-continue-through-the-northern-hemisphere-winter-2018-19/
Time to make the donuts. Have a good weekend and thank you for visiting!
