Greetings and welcome!
Measurements around the yard this morning were in the 9-11 range.
Iron Snowshoe and Paul Bunyan Riders (Lakewood) opened trails as of noon today. I am sure that other area clubs will do the same. *Update-Red Arrow and Dun-Good checked in and are also opening today.
Madison/Dane county took the top totals in WI with around 20″. Marquette, MI was mentioned on the noon news as getting 16+.
The county was out in force this morning plowing and salting and Hwy C looked a lot better today. I am not sure if Stephenson has been out plowing yet, they didn’t have a lot done last night. Parkway by X was one lane at dark and some side roads hadn’t been touched as of 8:30 last night.
The slushy leftovers of our 4″ snow and last weekend’s rain has frozen in nicely to make a little ice base. It will be slippery under the snow until it bonds.
The wind emptied the trees of snow pretty well. There is still a little, but not a whole world flocking like yesterday.
The noon news said that Menominee, MI, right across the river form Marinette, WI saw a peak wind gust of 64mpgh last night. Sheboygan saw 58mph, and other areas reported peak gusts in the 45mph range.
That is news for the moment. Have a good weekend and thank you for visiting!
