It has been a cold week and the trails haven’t lost anything. I don’t think that we crossed the 20 degree mark this week, so even the sunny days didn’t matter to the trails. They are nice and flat and in great shape.

It will be a colder than normal weekend as we get the arctic push behind the big storm that hit our friends to the south. We didn’t get any snow out of it, but the cold is here.

We are expecting a little light snow Saturday, but no real accumulation. I call it winter wonderland snow. It doesn’t really add up, but it puts a nice twist on the day. Here is the NWS take on the weekend..

Today: Sunny. Highs 10 to 15. West wind 10 to 15 mph. Wind chills to 25 below zero in the morning.

Tonight: Mostly clear. Lows around 10 below zero. West wind 5 to 10 mph in the evening becoming light and variable.

Saturday: Partly cloudy. Highs in the middle teens. Light and variable wind.

Saturday Night: Mostly cloudy. Lows zero to 5 below. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Sunday: Mostly cloudy. A chance of flurries. Highs in the middle teens. Northwest wind 5 to 10 mph.

Our normal high and low for today is 26 and 1, so we will be a little below normal. That is probably a good thing, the trails develop a lot less whoopties and stutter bumps when it is cold out.

It is my weekend to work Saturday at my day job, so I will not be at Rapids bartending Saturday. I am expecting to be there after about 3 to see people and have a little happy hour, and I will bring the camera. Stop in anyway, they have a good crew there and the food is good.

Have a fun and safe weekend, and maybe I will see you at the Rapids later Saturday or on the trail Sunday.

Have a good Friday and thank you for visiting!
