Greetings and welcome!
Yesterday was brutal for snow. We got up to 55 and the sun was out all day. There was water running down the side of the road and off of roofs. It was ugly. If you want a last chance ride there are sheltered places to do it, but a lot of the trails have gone to poor and beyond. If I was going to ride I would probably go to wooded areas between here and Crooked Lake or into the forests between Benson Lake Rd and Hwy 8.
Today we are only expecting cloudy and 40, and it is supposed to get into the teens tonight. Tomorrow is supposed to be 50 & sunny, and Sunday 50 and cloudy.
I still have not heard a closing date for Marinette Co trails. Forest and Oconto Co close Sunday night. I kind of expect Iron Snowshoe to close south of Hwy C pretty soon, but they haven’t updated in a week so who knows what their thinking is.
It is all about the sun. Areas that are sunny are down to mud or getting close. Areas that the sun can’t hit still hold some base though it will get slushy on a 50 degree day. We have not gone below 32 at night in at least 3 days.
Plowed roads are bare and dry where there isn’t runoff. Plowed gravel roads are muddy where the sun hits and icy or slushy where it doesn’t. Mud season is here. I sure wish that I had a different story to tell.
Have a good weekend and thank you for visiting!

Hello Ray,
Wow! It’s unbelievable how quickly your weather has turned around. What a crazy snow year. Folks that are able to get in on the early rafting season will surely be impressed. Hope to see you soon.
