We had a pretty good weekend for people riding in the area. There were a lot of riders out on Saturday and some of them stopped at Rapids Resort. I have pictures below the update.
When I spoke to Mike Sunday he said that he did about 100 miles and found it about 1/3 great,1/3 OK, and 1/3 poor.
Friday night brought a surprise when our expected flurries turned into freezing drizzle and greased up town roads pretty good. Other than that it was a pretty normal weekend for weather. Sunday brought about 1.5″ of snow.
I did hear that someone went through one of the local flowages on a snowmobile and got out. The news also said that three people went into a lake in Rhinelander and two of them did not make it, apparently including a young one. My sympathies to their families.
Stay off of the ice. It has been a terrible year for ice on the lakes and places normally safe by now most likely are not safe this year.
We have a pretty normal week for weather ahead. there is a slight chance of some flurries Tuesday night, followed by a cold day Wednesday (low of 3, hi of 16). Thursday brings the chance of a couple of inches of snow.
Next weekend looks like it will be in the 20s.
