Greetings and welcome!
We have filtered sun and about 40 today with a little wind. The sun is being held back, so melting is pretty limited.
We are still on track with the three storms in our forecast. We should see an inch or two tonight and tomorrow, another chance at light snow Thursday, and a possible big storm Sunday.
The big storm dropped south in one recent model run, but other than that it has consistently shown a track and potential to be a real storm (6-10+) for us.
The thing that stands out for me is that a trend might be coming together. With the Tuesday storm we are seeing a pretty deep low pressure area forming and almost putting together a significant snow event. The moisture from the Gulf of Mexico is limited and the energy from the northern and southern jet streams doesn’t quite ‘phase’ or come together in time for our needs.
In the event of the Sunday Monday storm, the jet streams do phase, and the Gulf of Mexico is not blocked off by high pressure. There is another storm like it about a week out.
The LaNina is weakening and we are seeing weather pattern changes. I am not sure that it is that cut and dried of a correlation, but it is happening on both counts.
In events this weekend we have..
