Greetings and welcome!

Sunday ended up being pretty fun. I started the day in the workshop checking out the Indy Trail and then I took it out for a ride. With only a few miles on it this year I stayed close to home and rode around Silver Cliff, the flowages, and the Twin Bridge area.

2-9-14aThe trails were a little thin and had varying degrees of snirtiness, but they were good enough to ride. I only hit a couple of spots that were worn through, mostly in a logging area. We need snow for sure, but I rode and had fun. It was kind of amazing with no snow in a month or more, and not that much to start with.

The worst part was the couple of miles of road between here and the trail. Our ice glaze from Saturday night helped, but some of it was pretty scrapey. Plowed/paved road trails are hit and miss with a lot of miss where the sun can get to them.

We have a chance at a little snow Tuesday, Tuesday night, and into Wednesday. It could add up to 3-4″ according to the TV weather guy, and my guidance suggests about the same. It isn’t a huge storm, but at least we have a shot at some meaningful snow.

Chris has again gathered up some events for this weekend..

I was only at Rapids for a little while on Saturday, but I did get to meet a few riders and get a few pictures.. Thank you all for visiting!

Otto’s Friend asked, “Where can you park a truck and trailer overnight north of C on the trail?”

There is a park n ride just west of Athelstane on Eagle River Rd. I am not sure if they allow overnight parking, but probably so.

Otherwise… Marinette Co came out with a new program a while back where you can camp pretty much anywhere on county land for a $12 sticker. With a little scouting you should be able to find a clear cut where you can pull off of the road and establish a base camp.

A final option, Firelane Bar has a big area plowed for a park and ride. You might be able to keep your rig there if it isn’t too full. It can’t hurt to ask.

Well I have to get back to work now. Have a good Monday and thank you for visiting!
