Greetings and welcome!
It was a fairly quiet weekend last weekend. Apparently cold temps and some football game kept people at home. As a result the trails still look nice.
I took my run to Lakewood and Townsend yesterday. The Paul Bunyan Riders reports of good to excellent verify. Even the grade looked ok, including in sunny and high wear spots. Some were a little snirty but still flat and covered. The trails along F looked really nice. The same goes for the trails between here and the gas station in Silver Cliff.
Road trails have improved a little. Some are still scrapey, some are starting to get a nice layer of ice.
The temperatures this week are expected to be pretty nice for the third week in January. We are looking at low to mid-20s for daytime highs and lows in the 5-10 above range.
The snow today has only added up to a speckling of flakes. There are very light flurries falling but that is about it.
About Friday night we are expecting another clipper to come in with some snow. It isn’t huge but it could be a 1-3 or 2-4 to freshen things up. It will also likely cool things off for the weekend. Look for low 20s Saturday and a high of about 10 Sunday.
According to the NWS forecast we are not looking at a lot of sun this week. Most days are predicted to be mostly cloudy or partly sunny. Pretty soon that will become a factor.
We have a lot of events this weekend.

It was a fun weekend in spite of being quieter than usual. Quite a few friends visited and it was a good time. After visiting with friends at Rapids I headed down to Fisher’s Camp, which was really hopping. Later I visited Curve Inn, where I ran into some Bear fans from around Palatine.
Here are the pictures from Saturday afternoon. The ones from Saturday night are still at Rapids.

As is almost always the case, today brought a variety of stuff to juggle, and I have pretty much given up on the idea of playing outside. Instead of fighting it I am going to swim with the current and get as much work done as possible. Tomorrow brings more work. Wednesday & Thursday look like shop and trail days.
I don’t like too many +25 days with nice trails getting past me, but what do you do. Some work won’t wait.
That is about it for today. Have a good week and thank you for visiting!
