Greetings and welcome!
It is a sunny Saturday morning this morning. At 9am it is already 34 degrees. Yesterday we had a sunny day that got up to 43. It was still above freezing at 10pm, but we did eventually hit a low of 12 degrees last night. Today we are looking at a high of 43 again with plenty of sun.

I really can’t tell you how the trails fared since I was not out and about yesterday or yet today. All that I can tell you is what I see out my window and my expectations.

We did see some melting yesterday but it was not themogeddon. Most of the snow on my driveway and the road in front of the house is still there. The snow on the deck rails is pretty much gone. The snow on the garage roof pulled back a little but is still deep. I did see that some oak leaves caught some sun and sank into the snow a little.

All of this leads me to conclude that we might have seen some dark spots melt or open up a little but areas with ample snow are still intact.`Would I ride today? If I didn’t have to work at noon I’d be out right now. Once it gets warmer I’d likely park it in the interest of preserving the base in marginal areas.

Tomorrow looks like another bad one. It is expected to be sunny again and again into the 40s. My European model is still showing a high of 47 for Iron Mountain, but the NWS is still predicting low 40s.

Right now my guess is that we will get through this ok in most areas, with the usual sunny and thin spots taking it the hardest. All that we can do is hope for the best.

Have a good weekend and thank you for visiting!
