Greetings and welcome!
Overnight I made the transition to a new web site hosting company. I have been doing web sites (Including this one) since 1998. I have never had such a seamless transition.
Anyway.. Yesterdays travels included Silver Cliff, Lakewood, Boulder Lake, Townsend, and Carter. The trails here near Silver Cliff are beat bad. Not much left. Some stretches are still good, but some/many aren’t. In Lakewood the grade was pretty ugly. Boulder Lake had more snow and the trails looked a lot better. Townsend wasn’t quite as beat as Lakewood but there was still a coffee color to the grade. Carter looked better but worn.
It is just about over. Paging the Fat Lady.. Please report center stage..
The forecast ahead shows temps at or near 40 from Sunday-Thursday with Monday almost hitting 50. The trails are in tough shape now and we need a week of snow not a week of 40s. The 16 day GFS show virtually no snow for its duration. That takes us out to March 10th.
I just saw on the morning news that Oconto County is tentatively closing trails Monday morning.
There are still opportunities to ride. Forest roads vary from nice to terrible. Lakes still have some snow. Beyond that it is a matter of finding the good areas and dodging the bad ones. Get it while you can.
There are happenings in Townsend and on High Falls today. See yesterday’s updates for details.
Have a good weekend and thank you for visiting!
