Greetings and welcome!
Yesterday got up to 55 and the sun was out. The damage was brutal. A lot of snow melted and turned to ice overnight. The trail in front of the house looked pretty icy. The sun was not our friend and there are some dirt patches that opened up. Paved roads are mostly bare except in shady areas.
Several reports have conditions much better by going even a little north so that is the recommendation right now.
The week ahead has nothing good for us. Starting Monday every day has either a 4 or a 5 in front of the high temperature. The next two big storms are rain. It sure looks like the next few days are last call for around here. Again, head north for better conditions.
I took advantage of the warm day Friday and pulled Twindie #2 out of storage. Apparently it was #1 that went through the shop last and that’s why the check over went so well. Number two has a broken fuel line in the tank and needs some other basic love. With two days left in the season I will likely just put it back in storage and fix it another day when I have time to do it right.
I did pull one of the carbs and open it up. I was curious what the 3 year old gas with the Startron fuel preservative did to it. It was perfect inside- no clogs, no algae, no green stuff. That is pretty impressive. I use it in every gallon of gas that I have for power equipment.
It is my mission to get out riding over the next couple of days. It sure looks like last call.
Have a good Sunday and thank you for visiting!
