Greetings and welcome!
I have a few updates. One is that the Iron Snowshoe opened trails back up south of Hwy C yesterday afternoon. Many of the trails only have an inch or two, but if they are open at least the 4 wheelers can ride. The ground is certainly firm enough.
The snow ended up being about an inch here and closer to two down by High Falls Flowage. There is a little more out in MN that will probably be in the neighborhood later today.
It looks like morning will be the time to play outside today. The wind is expected to kick up in the afternoon as temperatures head for zero or below for tonight. After that we are looking at Wednesday before we see a high temp over about 5 degrees, and Wednesday looks like +10. Most overnight lows are in the -10 to -15 range, but I’d be very surprised if we didn’t see some -20s, and wind chills below -30.
More news from the Curve Inn, they are having a DJ (and probably karaoke) tonight and a meat raffle Sunday afternoon. I also heard Glenn talking about marking a trail from the radar run across the lake to the Curve. The trails were pretty bare before the snow, but you could still take the ice by snowmobile. They have very good char broiled burgers and home made pizza.
Well I have four days worth of stuff to do outside today before the temperature craters, so I am going to go and get on it. Have a good weekend and thank you for visiting!
