8:30pm
We have about 4″ of wet heavy snow down and it is snowing pretty good. There is a dry slot coming our way so the snow could stop for a few hours. There is still a lot of storm behind it and the dry slot is starting to fill in so I’m not too worried about it.
The density of this snow will be good for packing a base. I am considering running the snowblower because I don’t think I want to move 8-10″ of it later.
4:30pm
There was very little rain before the snow changed over. It is now big chunky flakes coming down at a fair pace. That should up the final totals a little bit. If all of the snow is moisture dense it is going to be cement snow to try to move and great packing snow for a base.
Earlier Update..
Well well well. seems that people are getting a little excited about the storm for tonight. We are under a winter storm warning. The NWS is calling for 6-10 for here, though some forecasters are upping totals. The morning news has us in the 8-12 band.
Personally I am more concerned about the wind. Wet heavy snow plus 40mph winds could add up to some power outages.
One way or another it looks like we are in for some weather.
