Greetings and welcome!
As you can see, I made a post with the pictures from the NEW Low Buck Vintage Riders antique snowmobile show. The weather was a little damp and foggy, but at 40 it wasn’t bad. The show itself had some spectacular old snowmobiles, check out the gallery page.
I am doing this update at about 3am Sunday morning, and we have a pretty good fog going. About mid-afternoon on the way home from the snowmobile show I encountered a little heavier fog, and as I got closer to the house, a little rain too. Looking out the back door with the light on it is definitely foggy. The NWS has a dense fog advisory out warning of visibilities as low as a few hundred feet.
Fog is bad, M’kay…
High humidity air like fog is a very effective conductor of heat. That is why it will give you a chill, even in decent cold weather gear. Just like a liquid cooled engine is more effective at removing the heat than an air cooled one, high humidity air can move a lot of heat.
Today we have warm and humid air, and a little light rain, going over snow and frozen ground from a cold stretch that got as low as 2.5ºF. Thus we have the fog.
We have a warm week ahead. Today we are looking at low to mid-40s, Monday possibly mid-50s and rain later, 40 Tuesday, and Wednesday. Thursday looks like upper 30s and rain, and we finally get back into the upper 20s and low 30s for Friday and Saturday.
As of 3:30am we are at 38. The normal high/low temperature for today is 32/14.
Farther out in the GFS model it does show us getting into a little colder weather and even some snow. Right now it looks like winter starts about December 9th.
Today and tomorrow I have days off that happen to be some of the last warm days of the year. That has been rare this Fall, so I will be a busy boy with firewood, insulating the house, working on the blue room, the snow plow, the truck, on and on. I’m thinking that it is my last chance to do the stuff that I want to do while it is over 30 degrees.
At that point I am off to get a little sleep and I will be back in a day or two. Don’t forget to check out the antique show pictures.
Have a good weekend and thank you for visiting!
