Greetings and welcome!

We have a very nice day outside today.. maybe a little too nice. As of 3pm Iron Mountain and Crivitz have 35, Athelstane has 37, and Wabeno has 34. There has been some minor melting and treated roads are melting off. The snow from earlier in the week is down to about 2″ after the continued settling.

My travels last night took me to Crooked Lake via the forest roads. Both the roads and trails looked great. The trails around the upstream end of Caldron Falls looked great this afternoon too.

The storm for Sunday is still on the path, but the models are not in good agreement on the exact timing or path of the storm. We are still on track to see meaningful snow and it is very likely that some of the precip will be rain too. The path of the low in all models is a little northwest of ideal.

Of more immediate concern is the warm weather in advance of the storm. I am seeing upper air temperatures even warmer than today for Friday and Saturday. The NWS is predicting 38 Friday and 41 Saturday. That will probably not go well for marginal snow areas and could lead to changing conditions everywhere.

I have been working on a spot for winter events. Today I published a page at https://bigsnowpage.com/index.php/area-events with the latest events and event posters that I have. Some are posters that I shot with my phone, some are from Iron Snowshoe. Take a look.
