Greetings and welcome!
The trails that I saw out of the car window on the way home from work looked pretty good. Those couple of little snows and freezing rain was enough to help cover grassy and snirty areas.
Wausaukee was grooming along Perch Lake Rd tonight after work. The groomed trail looked pretty nice with most of the grass gone.
The trail along C here in Silver Cliff was also groomed and looked good.
There isn’t a lot of snow, but it is covered.
Right now the biggest challenge that I see for weekend riders is the warm temperatures and the Friday snow and freezing rain. We could see an inch or two starting Friday afternoon, and there could be some freezing rain along with it.That could make Friday night travel interesting.
Saturday and Sunday the NWS is looking for upper 30s. The mix of minimal conditions, warm weather and heavy traffic might lead to deteriorating conditions. If the trails are getting marginal, head north and northwest. People have been finding good riding there.
I will not be at Rapids this Saturday for my usual 1-4 shift. I have to work my regular job. If our storm next week works out I will be there the following Saturday.
Folks sure are getting excited about the Tuesday storm. I have seen TV weather reports with early estimates of 14″ around here. Just say no to the hype. Right now it looks more like a 3-6 or 4-8 storm. I am more impressed with the likely winds than the likely snow at the moment.
I am off to go and throw a few more logs on the fire. The NWS says that we could see a low of 5 degrees tonight. A chance of freezing rain 12 hours later has me shaking my head. Must be northern WI.
Have a good Friday and thank you for visiting.

Last night we had some snow and some rain. The end result was about 1/2 of really wet snow. It isn’t a lot, but it will help.
