Greetings and welcome!

The snow last night and today was another non-event. It added up to not the 1-2″ that could have been, but rather about 1/8 to 1/4″. That isn’t much help when we are looking for a foot plus.

A lot of people are hot to ride this weekend and it just isn’t there. About the only possibility that I see is finding some sheltered forest roads up by Townsend or Carter. There is a little more snow along 32 north of the Forest Co line as you come into Carter, but we are still talking 3-4″ on the ground.

Here are some pictures from the RR grade in Lakewood, the far north end of Townsend, and up in Carter..

There are a couple of fast moving clippers that could bring a little snow between now and Monday. Little is the operative word here. The NWS is calling for either light snow or snow showers, and nothing that ends in ‘inches’.

Saturday night’s storm shows the most promise, but the GFS is showing it in and out of the area very quickly, and that could limit totals. The big blast of cold wind behind it will probably bring good things for the Lake Superior lake effect snow belt, but that is about the best news that I have today.

Have a good Thursday and thank you for visiting!
