Greetings and welcome!
Today we are only expecting to get up into the low 40s, a big change from the mid and upper 50s of recent days.
The storm is looking like a good one for snow. Both the GFS and NAM models are showing a storm track that should end with us getting 6+”. The NWS is showing it starting in the early morning hours and 2″ by morning, 3″ tomorrow, and 2″ more Friday night.
This might be an ugly one with all of the bare ground and the frost coming out of the ground, plus all of the water gathering in low spots. In my travels last night there was a lot of bare ground and some ice base left where the sun couldn’t reach it. My driveway has 4-6″ deep mud in sunny spots. It might be too late for us, and we might end up looking north for better trails. I don’t know how that will play out yet.
Time to make the donuts. Have a good Thursday and thank you for visiting!
