1Pm Update-
We had very minimal snow overnight. Instead we are getting 40-50mph wind gusts.
The big storm for Saturday looks like yet another disappointment. The latest models and forecasts have the storm hitting mostly 100+ miles south of us, and we will be lucky to see 1-3″.
I saw that Oneida Co (Rhinelander area) is opening trails this weekend. Hopefully they have a lot more snow than we do.

Greetings and welcome!
We have a lot to talk about today.
We are expecting an inch or two of snow overnight. The 3-4″ that we got a few days ago is still there. Some areas reported 5-6″.
Iron Snowshoe was out panning trails a few days ago. It wasn’t much to work with but they are trying. Some areas laid down nicely, some still was pretty thin.
The storm for Saturday is a big question mark. If it goes well we could see 4-6 or 4-8. That would be great. The models were pushing it too far south over the last few runs, and we would be lucky to see 1-3. At the very fresh run that just saw 2 of 3 models had it back close to our region. Personally I’m skeptical but I like what some of the models say.
This weekend is the big High Falls Fish-O-Rama/Winterfest/Radar Runs.
Iron Snowshoe doesn’t have enough snow yet, but the LMT trails up by Laona and Wabeno are opening Saturday. I haven’t been that way in a long time so I am not sure what they have for trails.
Next weekend we have a couple of events..
As always everyone is hoping the snows work out so that we can open trails and pack events. Right now it doesn’t look like feet of snow in the short term but at least we are in the game.
Have a good weekend and thank you for visiting!
