Thursday 3-16-2023 11pm Update

Greetings and welcome!

So far the storm has not been the disaster that it could have been. The first wave of the storm had some really ugly yellow and orange patches on radar that showed heavy rain heading our way. That didn’t make it much north of Green Bay. We had an hour or two of moderate rain and the rest was pretty light. Looking out at the dog walk we clearly lost some snow and ice in thin spots, but there is a lot that remains.

There is still a little rain coming before it changes to snow. It doesn’t look like a lot of snow but we can hope.

I really won’t know how we fared until I get a look around tomorrow. Looking out of the window I can say that it could have been a lot worse. I doubt that it took out the big base in better areas. Bad spots likely got worse, but I fully expect that sheltered areas and places with more snow (especially north & west) survived the rain.

It is expected to get unseasonably cold behind the storm. Tonight it is supposed to go down to 25, tomorrow will be cloudy with a high of 29, and Friday night is expected to go into the low teens, and Saturday shows similar numbers to Friday. With that cold I expect what is left to freeze solid.

Once Sunday comes around (sunny & 40) it is the start of a warming trend next week that might not go well for us.

I will know more tomorrow. I just wanted to check in and say that it wasn’t as bad as it could have been.

Have a good night and thank you for visiting!
