Greetings and welcome!

The snow overnight amounted to a dusting. It could have been an inch but was  <1/4″. At that point I will strongly recommend against riding this weekend.

The last three runs of the GFS have shown a glimmer of hope for a storm next weekend. Yesterday’s 6pm run had it just skirting below us. The Midnight version had it coming a little more our way. The 6am version looked a lot more promising with a big low coming on a nice path for us to see 3-6 or maybe a little more.

The thing that makes the 6am run believable is the frames behind the storm where they show very high winds and some really bitter cold. THAT is the January that I remember.

At this point it is just a 10 day out projection of a possible scenario.

There is a chance of a little light snow over the weekend, but again it is nothing that will return us to nice trails. That will take at least 3-6, preferably more, to cover all of that bare dirt and gravel.

Those really hot to ride this weekend might find a lake or field with some snow under the crust. The trails are either icy or bare.

If you are in the neighborhood this weekend check out Northwoods Bar on Saturday for the Near North Trail Riders Poker Run Drawing. The Northwoods Bar is about 9 miles north of Athelstane where A (Northway) meets Benson Lake Road.

That is about it from here. Have a good Thursday and thank you for visiting!
