Saturday night the snow came back and we got about another inch. I’d call it about a 5″ snow grand total. Iron snowshoe has been out packing the trails. The snow really really helped but without much base we still have the dreaded early season conditions. One friend said that there were good and bad trails, along with really good and really bad trails. You can ride, just don’t expect the glorious flat highways that the clubs try to strive for in mid-February. After this season and last season it is sort of get it while you can.
While it is wicked cold outside (Great for freezing in some base), it isn’t going to stay that way. The NWS has Saturday at a high of 30, Sunday a high of 39 and Monday a high of 38.
Looking ahead it does cool off but I don’t see any promising storms anywhere on the 16 day GFS forecast model. That takes us out to March 6th. I sure would like to see a big finish and I’m hoping for a surprise. That isn’t obvious at the moment.
