Greetings and welcome!
Today did not go well for us at all. Here are some temperatures from today..
Athelstane Weather 47
Niagara 52
Shawano 47
Wabeno 45, still at 37 at 7pm
The sun was out today too, and it helped inflict damage.
When I ran to Carter tonight at sunset some trails still looked great. There were plenty of blown out thin spots and bare plowed roads too. The railroad grade north of Lakewood was down to gravel to the bridge and beyond. Townsend had a lot of dark color and some gravel spots on the grade as well.
Hills facing south are mostly bare if they have sun exposure, and the ice in the driveway was crunchy as the car broke through in spots. The bare spot by the road where I plowed it down to gravel lost frost in the first 1/4-1/2″.
System-wide riding is probably done until we see snow. There are always places to play in the woods, and there is the possibility that going north might help.
Dan Guendert sent in a comment-
Ray, trails took a beating today from the warm weather and sun. Lots of burned out hills and curves, and the trails have started to melt from underneath now, too.
One correction to Red Arrow’s Fisheree- this year it is a one day only event- just Saturday.
Thanks,
Dan
Our best chance of bouncing back is a storm for Sunday and Monday.
Here is another event for this weekend.
The Dun-Good Riders Club Ride to Pemenee Brat Fry Saturday 2/17/18 11:00 am – 5:00 pm
That is it for tonight. I sure wish that I had better news.
Have a good Thursday and thank you for visiting!
