Greetings and welcome!

Yesterday we got up to 41 degrees. It hit us hard. Road trails that had an inch of ice are bare or intermittent. I haven’t seen enough trails to evaluate them.

A little salt in the wound- last night it rained and then the temperatures cratered so everything got glazed. Today we were about 15ºF for most of the day with strong winds.

The forecast does not look good. We are stuck in a pattern where a big system up in Canada has set up camp where it will be sending cold air right out of the Arctic and the occasional clipper system from the northwest.

The first clipper won’t be clipping that fast and will bring light snow Thursday night-Saturday. The bad news is that we could see a whole inch out of it, maybe two.

That pattern continues for the next couple of weeks. It would be ok if each clipper brought 3-4” but that isn’t in the forecast.

Hopefully the forecast turns around soon. For now we wait.

Iron Snowshoe and Oconto Co remain closed.

The closest open trails are the Near North club in Athelstane and by Dun-Good club up by Hwy 8. Here is today’s Dungood report… https://www.dungood.org/2026/01/14/trail-report-1-14-26/

We have an event coming up this weekend..

I will get a better look at local trails tomorrow.

Have a good night and thank you for visiting!
