Greetings and welcome!
The weather has not been going our way. Saturday we got up to 48. Sunday was 54 and sunny and Monday got up to 56. Tuesday was better with cloudy and 48.
The big beautiful ice base has taken it well so far. When I was out yesterday there were a few more grassy or bare spots, but at least 80% of the trails still had some ice base. Roads are mostly bare but the shady spots still have some ice.
The storm last night brought about an inch of wet heavy snow. As always there was more snow to our north and west.
At the moment I am skeptical about the Friday storm as well. I would love to see a foot of fresh snow Saturday morning. I’m just not sold on that solution.
One thing that we have going for us is the uncertainty in the forecast models. It has been my observation that when they are not consistent good things happen.
I ran into some friends last night that were up to snowmobile. Happily they got some miles in before the trails closed Sunday. Good to see you guys!!
I have some videos from Facebook to share. One is from the Pickeral Jump In and the other is drone footage from the High Falls Fish-O-Rama and radar runs.

With the warm weather I FINALLY got to play with one of the Twindies. I didn’t run them the last two winters because of the lack of snow. That puts into 3 year old gas. Not good.
Years ago I tested Stabil vs Seafoam vs Startron for fuel preservative. Stabil failed miserably and left a big mess. Seafoam had stinky gas but the fuel system was clean. The Startron gas smelled like the day that I pumped it. I have been using it in every gallon of gas for a few years since. I also only run non-ethanol premium.
Anyway the Twindies had 3 year old gas. It was stinky for sure but it still smelled like gas. The carbs weren’t dirty and the first one started right up with fresh gas. I pumped the old gas out and I am currently running it in my car. The car isn’t thrilled with it but it runs it. That is amazing. Untreated gas at 3 years would look like maple syrup and smell awful.
Startron really came through for me on this one. Today I’m their biggest fan.
Have a good Wednesday and thank you for visiting!
