Greetings and welcome!

The big storm did not make it up here. A check outside found no new snow last night or today. The big snow in the region was east and south of Green Bay where Algoma and Kewaunee had as much as 17″ of lake effect snow.

We could always use more snow for the trails, but we are doing pretty good. My ride yesterday was glorious. The roads were plowed pretty tight on the way there, but I found my way. The un-plowed roads were fun.

It was late in the day so I only took a quick ride. I made it almost 1/2 of the way to Crooked Lake and spun it around 10 minutes before sunset. I really really really wanted to keep going, but riding alone on a 19 year old sledĀ  the prospect of a 5 mile walk out of the woods to the road in the dark seemed less inviting than the virgin trail. It hurt turning around but I had to do it.

The earlier pictures are on the trail between Landing 11 and Chickadee and the other ones are on the pipeline trail to Crooked Lake.

You’d think that I’d be right back out there today, but the same four letter word that keeps most of us off of the trail on Wednesdays did me in. Work. I am going to try again tomorrow.

The weather for the weekend looks reasonable. We are expecting light snow Friday and Friday night and lingering flurries the rest of the weekend. Friday’s forecast is for highs in the low 20s and Saturday and Sunday should be in the mid-20s.

The huge snow downstate might cut into trail traffic up here as people can ride near home. Even though the football game doesn’t start until 5:30 Sunday night, it too is expected to be a distraction. Between the two the trails might not be quite as busy this weekend as they normally would be.

That is it from here. Have a good Wednesday and thank you for visiting!
