Friday 11-29-19

Greetings and welcome!

We have another storm coming for tonight through Sunday. There is a mix of snow, rain, and freezing rain expected. Saturday could bring a couple of inches. The heavy precip is expected Saturday night when we could see 8″ with a little more to follow Sunday.

The TV is showing it as mostly snow with 8-12+” expected along with 20-30mph winds. I am inclined to agree with that. The upper air temperatures looked like it would mostly be snow.

The NWS forecast is a little more complicated so I am going to just copy n paste it verbatim.

Tonight
A slight chance of freezing drizzle before midnight, then a chance of snow and freezing drizzle between midnight and 2am, then a chance of snow after 2am. Cloudy, with a low around 27. East northeast wind 5 to 8 mph. Chance of precipitation is 50%. New snow accumulation of less than a half inch possible.
Saturday
Snow likely, possibly mixed with freezing rain before 9am, then snow between 9am and 2pm, then snow, possibly mixed with freezing rain after 2pm. High near 32. East wind 9 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 28 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. Little or no ice accumulation expected. New snow accumulation of around 2 inches.
Saturday Night
Snow, possibly mixed with freezing rain, becoming all snow after 8pm. The snow could be heavy at times. Low around 27. East wind around 14 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 100%. New snow accumulation of around 8 inches.
Sunday
Snow. High near 32. North northeast wind 11 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%.
Sunday Night
A 30 percent chance of snow before midnight. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 18.
I am hoping that the snow doesn’t stick to the trees like the last storm did. That storm knocked out power to over 30,000 people and knocked down trees and branches across much our our region. It was a real disaster. The power came back on at the GFs house last night at about 10 pm, about a 36 hour outage. My hat is off to the line crews that gave up their Thanksgiving and deer hunting to restore power to all of those people. Right now they are down to about 1,700 people out of power and they are fixing those as I type.
Anyway we are in for another big winter storm, and as always I will be on it. Right now I am heading to town for supplies while the roads are still in good shape. After tonight we might not see that for a few days.
Have a good weekend and thank you for visiting!
