Greetings and welcome!
Yesterday’s warmth and sun was a disaster. Roads and trails with a nice ice base got damaged pretty badly. If I were to ride this weekend I would trailer up to a wooded spot with no plowed roads.
Here are some high temps from yesterday..

Here is a picture of the trail near Silver Cliff town hall at about 10am and about 3pm.
It was an ugly day. I was driving down Parkway Rd and the ice base on the road was melting off and making puddles and little rivers of running water on the hills. Anything vulnerable got burned off. Trails with a great base took a beating too.
Probably the best shot at better conditions is heading up by Hwy 8. They had warm and sun too, but they get a little more snow, less plowed roads, and have more sheltered trails.
A lot of the base that was not in the sun survived, and got turned into ice last night. Some snow would change things a lot, but many places are starting from zero.
I do not know if I will be at Rapids Resort Saturday or not. I am under the weather today, and unless I feel a lot better by sunset I am out. That is why my update is so late. My apologies.
That is it for now. I sure wish I had something different to report.
Have a good weekend and thank you for visiting!

Ray, we rode on Friday from Chute Pond to Animal’s Bear Trail on marginal but rideable trails, then found very good trails north of Hwy 64 to the Forest County line. We continued on north to Johnnie’s Resort on LMT and 100 Miler trails and found a mixed bag of mostly fair to good trails, with some very good trails, too. We avoided the Nicolet State trail for the most part, but we survived the dreaded “S” curve north of Wabeno on our way south to the LMT4. I was surprised at how nice a lot of the trails still are. There are plenty of ugly spots, but also many miles of really good trail left out there. I hope you’re feeling better soon!
