Greetings and welcome!
Its Friday! Woo-Hoo! Its March 1st! Boohoo..
We have a great weekend coming up. The trails are in excellent shape, the weather looks good, and there are some good events.
The first order of business though is the 2-4″ of snow that we are expecting late today. The NWS is saying that the snow should mostly be between 5pm and 2am. The TV forecast animation showed the snow getting to the eastern 1/4 of WI after 6pm.
Saturday we are looking for high temps in the mid-20s, and Sunday a high of 14. Look for a low of 13 Friday night and a low of about 1 Saturday night. (Probably colder if skies clear enough)
When I was out around the High Falls area yesterday the trails looked excellent all around. The roads were a mix of bare on sunny treated county roads to icy in shady spots and on town roads.
I took a bunch of pictures while I was out. The sun and shadows made trail pictures mostly unusable. I also got a few pictures to document how deep the snow banks are.
March 1st sets off all kinds of warning bells. The sun is getting warm and the end is near. Even with our outstanding snow we only have a couple of weeks of great trails left as a sure thing.
Today’s sun stats..
Sunrise & sunset-6:31-5:39
Length of sunlight- 11:08
Length of sunlight at the end of the month- 12:43
We add an average of just over 3 minutes a day of sunlight, a total of 1 hour 35 minutes.
Daylight savings starts March 10th at 2am.
On a lighter note I found the pix of the buried plow truck as I was digging it out. I wasn’t in that deep…
I will be at Rapids Resort Saturday afternoon from about 12-4 meeting people and getting your pictures for the net. I put them on here Monday as well as in my seasonal gallery, and on Todd & Barb’s Rapids Resort FaceBook Page. If I don’t ask you to do a picture, please ask me.
Have a good weekend and thank you for visiting!
