Greetings and welcome!
Last night I was awakened a couple of times by really loud thunder claps. I was pretty tired, so they must have shook the house. An empty parts bucket that I left outside yesterday had almost 1.5″ of rain in it tonight at sunset.
That rain made for a very foggy day as it hit the ground and warmed it up. Fog is a snow thief, but it will also take the frost out of the ground in a hurry. I guess I’d be worried about it if there wasn’t a big cold wave on the way. I don’t see a day over about 25 until next week. Overnight lows are forecast to be in the mid-teens. I will suggest that on a clear night we could get colder than that. With all of the rain from today and no snow cover, the ground should freeze fast and go deep.
Someone at the gas station said that we were expecting 12-18″ of snow Saturday. No. Not gonna happen. The UP snow belt areas might get that this week, but not us. At least it doesn’t show up in my models or the NWS forecast. A little snow? maybe.
I saw something today that the Dun-Good Riders have their trails open for ATVs and UTVs. We have zero snow for the sleds, but you can ride the wheelers again.
I am off to the work shed to hopefully wrap up a project that I don’t want to finish at 20 degrees tomorrow. Have a good Tuesday and thank you for visiting!
