Greetings and welcome!
My final tally is about 5.5″ of wet heavy snow. I spent a couple of hours on cleanup, and it took some effort to plow and snowblow it.
This was just what the doctor ordered for the trails, the stuff packs down into icy hardpack with little effort.
Red Arrow (Townsend and Lakewood) and Paul Bunyan ( Lakewood) will be opening trails Sunday morning at 8am, giving groomer crews a chance to pack it before they open. Iron Snowshoe already has gates open and you can ride, and they will be running groomers tonight.
Expect early season conditions, and with the warm weather, there will be some soft and wet spots.
Here are a couple of more pictures taken once it stopped snowing..
That’s news. Have a good night and thank you for visiting!
