Thursday 2-20-14

Greetings and welcome!

Right now it looks like the storm is going to track about 100 miles west of ideal. That puts us into the rain and mix area for the first part of the storm. I am expecting a snowy finish tonight and tomorrow, and really a lot of wind.

A 100 mile cushion isn’t much so we will have to wait and see. It is hard to guess at snow totals, but I’d guess at about 4-6. Even a small wobble in the storm path could make a big difference, so it is hard to say.

Tomorrow looks a little hairy as our snowy finish is driven by 30mph winds gusting to 40 and 50 mph. I am expecting a lot of blowing and drifting, and probably some limited visibility when driving. It also wouldn’t surprise me if the storm took down a few trees and knocked down some power lines too.

22014aI kept my date with the snow shovel and roof rake last night and my stuff should be out of danger. I had some snow to move between the work shed, the wood shed and the house. The stuff was 2.5-3′ deep so it was a little work. Ibuprofen will be my friend today. It needed to be done, more snow or a little rain probably would have really pushed the work shed roof to the limits. I would have rather been snowmobiling, but it had to get done.

That is it for now. I will update later if anything exciting is happening, and in the morning tomorrow. Have a good Thursday and thank you for visiting!
