Greetings and welcome!

Last week I was looking at remote starters for my car. They weren’t that much money and I can install it myself, making it pretty affordable. I passed thinking that it is already almost mid-February, and the really cold stuff should be just about over. What a dummy.

Tuesday night’s snow ended up with about 3″ on the front step when I left for work Wednesday morning. It was fairly puffy snow, and by the end of the day we had 20-25 mph winds gusting to what I would estimate to be 35 or 40mph. There was definitely some blowing and drifting.

When I get up later this morning I can expect near zero temperatures and the same strong wind adding up to -25 wind chills.

Looking at the GFS, this looks like the rubber stamp for the next two weeks forecast.. A system with a little snow, followed by arctic air and wind.. and, repeat it about every three or four days.

Our next wave comes Friday when we could see a little light snow, followed by a cold weekend. Saturday we are looking at single digit highs, and we could get up to 10 Sunday. Add in some wind and it will be a lot like winter.

The three inches of snow will certainly help the trails. With any luck we can add an inch or three Friday, and with the cold it won’t be going anywhere. It might not restore thin trails to magazine cover perfection, but it is a start.

We have some good events this weekend and you can ride most of the area. Bundle up and get out there and have some fun. March is only three weeks away.

Have a good Thursday and thank you for visiting!
