Greetings and welcome!
Not a lot has changed since my Tuesday update. The trails look to be in really nice shape, and we are looking at reasonable weather for the weekend.
The trails along the road between Silver Cliff and Wausaukee look very nice. There is full coverage even in the wind blown fields, and everything is nice and flat.
As far as the weather for the weekend, Friday through Sunday the forecast is for highs in the mid-teens, and lows in the 0 to -10 range.
About the biggest change was that some sunny days helped melt some of the ice layer off of county roads in sunny spots. It hasn’t started on the trails, but it probably will in a few weeks. I am noticing the longer days with the sun shining in my eyes on the way to work instead of rising after I get there, and not leaving in the dark. It isn’t a problem yet, but it will be eventually.
Over the weekend I showed some of you my new flashlights. I needed better light in the emergency kit on the snowmobile and for the car, and I got some nice flashlights. They have a Cree XM-L LED that puts out about the same light as a 100 watt light bulb. They can light up a whole room, or when zoomed in they can throw light up my neighbor’s house 100 yards away, and they last several hours. With rechargable batteries and a charger they were about $18.
Here are some links.
For the snowmobile I got the one cell version and a set of batteries and charger.
That is at http://www.ebay.com/itm/151152027880 and the batteries & charger are at http://www.ebay.com/itm/171176549858.
The two cell version for the car was a kit, and that is at http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=171236422698
There isn’t much to add, so I am off to get ready for work. Have a good Thursday and thank you for visiting!
