Greetings and welcome!

We have a cloudy 30 degree day with a little wind. I can’t help wishing that I was riding right now. I love those 25-30 degree days where I can ride all day and not get cold.

Yesterday we had a little light snow. In Crivitz it added up to an inch or so of fluffy stuff and was just enough to get the roads messy. Here in Silver Cliff it was a heavy dusting that was not even worth starting the leaf blower for.

They could use it. They missed out on the ice base like we have here and to our northwest. Before yesterday’s snow the snow was just patchy there.

We have some interesting weather ahead. The NWS is predicting 39 for tomorrow and mid-40s for Saturday before things cool down to a high of 32 Sunday.

The interesting part comes Monday when a medium strength storm could bless us with some snow. The track of the storm isn’t perfect but it looks like mostly snow for our area. Right now my guess is that it has the potential to be a 4-6″ storm. The QPF on it is for 1/2-1″ of rainfall equivalent which could translate to 6-12″ in a perfect world. It is my habit to cut something like that about in half for a realistic forecast.

But wait, that is not all. The storm for the 12th is still showing up in the models. It is still 9 days away so it is still just a nice cartoon, but there is a glimmer of hope there because it keeps showing up in the models.

In the meantime I remain parked. There is a nice ice base in most areas but not much snow. Red Arrow in Townsend is reporting fair to good conditions east of 32.

The snow for Monday could be the one that gets me onto the trails if the weekend warm spell doesn’t get too far out of hand.

In the meantime I am off to work. Have a good Thursday and thank you for visiting!
