7am

Greetings and welcome!

Yesterday was a pretty warm day. We had a little melting but nothing too significant. The warmest that I saw on my car was 32, but several area stations marked temperatures of 38 and 39. The great outdoors froze up again last night when clear skies allowed us to get down to 5 degrees.

Today doesn’t look too bad with a high temperature of about 30. Wednesday and Thursday are much more of concern when we could see 40 degrees and rain. Those 40s might be conservative, I am seeing upper air temperatures that exceed 50F.

The storm looks like it will start off as rain. When it switches over to snow is going to be the key to weather or not we hit the trails this weekend. I am not ready to surrender just yet but it is not looking good.

There is another stretch of cold air behind the storm that will freeze whatever we get. This could be the beginning of a nice ice base. Hopefully it comes with a nice dose of snow on top.

For now all that we can do is wait and watch.

Have a good Tuesday and thank you for visiting!
